Quick Answer
- Select the child's registered Windows device in the Parent Dashboard, choose Send message, and enter a note of up to 250 characters.
- SagiGuard queues the note for the selected device and displays it in an on-screen message when the Windows device and its SagiGuard components are available.
- Delivery is not instant or guaranteed while a device is offline. Queued messages expire after 24 hours, and the dashboard does not provide read receipts or a message-history view.
Introduction to SagiGuard Send Messages
Send Messages is a simple parent-to-device communication feature in SagiGuard. A parent writes the message in the web dashboard and directs it to the currently selected, registered Windows computer.
The feature is intended for short reminders and family communication. It does not work like a live chat service: messages are limited to 250 characters, are sent one device at a time, and depend on the Windows device checking for pending messages.
How to send a message from the Parent Dashboard
Sign in to your SagiGuard parent account and open the dashboard. Select the child's registered Windows computer, then choose Send message near the top of the dashboard.
Type your own note or choose one of the available quick-message suggestions. SagiGuard validates that the selected device belongs to your active account before placing the message in its delivery queue.
- Confirm that the intended Windows device is selected.
- Choose Send message.
- Enter a message between 1 and 250 characters, or use a quick-message suggestion.
- Choose Send Message to queue it for that device.
How messages appear on the child's Windows PC
When the child's Windows computer checks for pending messages and SagiGuard can reach an active desktop session, the Agent displays the text in a SagiGuard on-screen message and plays an alert sound.
The cloud records the message as delivered only after the Agent confirms that the message was displayed. This internal delivery state does not create a parent-facing read receipt and does not confirm that the child read the note.
What happens when the child's device is offline
If the Windows computer is offline, the dashboard can still place the message in the queue, but it cannot display the message immediately. The device must reconnect, authenticate, check for pending messages, and have an active SagiGuard Agent session before the note can appear.
A queued message remains eligible for delivery for up to 24 hours. It may be picked up after the device reconnects during that period, but delivery is not guaranteed. If the message expires before it is displayed, SagiGuard does not deliver it.
Practical ways parents can use Send Messages
Short, specific notes work best because the feature is designed for reminders rather than conversation. Avoid including sensitive information that does not need to appear on the child's screen.
- Homework reminder: Homework time. Please save your game and begin your assignment.
- Screen-time reminder: You have ten minutes left before tonight's screen-time rule begins.
- Family communication: Please come downstairs when you finish the current task.
- Check-in request: Please call me when you see this message.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are SagiGuard messages delivered instantly?
Not necessarily. The selected Windows device must be online, authenticated, checking for pending messages, and able to display the message through an active SagiGuard Agent session.
What happens if the Windows computer is offline?
The message stays queued for up to 24 hours. It may be displayed if the device reconnects and checks for messages before the expiry time, but offline delivery is not guaranteed.
Does SagiGuard show a read receipt?
No. SagiGuard can record that its Agent displayed a message, but the Parent Dashboard does not provide a read receipt or confirm that the child read it.
Can parents review previously sent messages?
No parent-facing message-history view is currently provided. The dashboard confirms that a new message was queued for delivery.
Can a parent send one message to every device at once?
No. A message is queued for the registered Windows computer currently selected in the Parent Dashboard.
How long can a message be?
A message can contain between 1 and 250 characters.
